Cheaper than taxis and often have specials for reduced cost or free rides. 4. Hail an Uber ride using your smart phone.

Get an affordable bike from Craigslist Flea Markets and Thrift Stores; even if it's not functional; it can be fixed up for free at the Esperanza Community Bike Shop.

Contact George. Can get a free bike made from recycled bike recoered from around Albuquerque. Open 9a-12p on Wednesday and at other times whn volunteers can help. Call Geoge during business hours Monday - Thursday or on Sundays after 1:30 pm. No calls or bike shop hours on Froday or Saturday. Can also inquire on availability at Esperanza Bike Shop. Located next door to Esperanza Bike Shop.

If you want to ride a bike or bike/bus there is a monthly Esperanza bike class that the AOC can send 3 resident’s to. Can also sign up at St. Martin's Hope Works Hope Center. Usually on one of the last weeks of the month. Each class attendee gets a free bike after attending both classes. A sign up will be put out at AOC monthly. Craigslist and thrift stores / flea markets around town have inexpensive bikes and the Esperanza City Bike Shop has free instruction and parts (donations) to repair your bike.

The Hope Center keeps a list for homeless individuals to sign up who are in need of a bike. Those employed and who check back with determination are prioritized. Program repairs and distributes bikes as they come available; work with Esperanza Community Bike Shop.

Currently issues day passes at the Resource Center starting at 6:45 am until they run out of their monthly allotment. Referrals/documentation of business may be required so they know that you have important things needing done that requires a bus pass.

If you have no money try getting day labor from St. Martin’s Job Hope Center (7-9:30 am is the best time - Day Labor Registration is 7 am on Wednesdays); (or other day labor) to pay for a pass.

Car Link has been developed to help low income families in Albuquerque with high maintenance cars that should be removed from use.  We take donations of vehicles and money and through our network of highly qualified auto shops and a partnership with NAPA we repair each vehicle.  We accept referrals from any organization or church that knows the situation of the family.  If our screening panel agrees with the recommendation the individual or family then can receive a good serviceable vehicle for their poor one. This is done at no cost to the family receiving the car.

Senior transportation program helps seniors in central New Mexico access medical appointments groceries and meet their day-to-day needs. This program is free and open to everyone over the age of 65 regardless of income level. Call to schedule.

Non-emergency Medical Transportation is a benefit available in most but not all New Mexico Medicaid programs. The service provides transportation services to and from medical appointments. The service is free of charge for those who are eligible. Shi'ma Transport is available 24 hours and 7 days a week. If you are New Mexico Medicaid Exempt and you need to schedule a ride you must call 3 days in advance or sooner. Call your health plan 3 days before you appointment and request for Shima Transport.
